Our Story
At Alagonia we're inspired by the splendor, distinctiveness and quality of wine from Oregon, California and Washington State. We've lived in these regions, and after returning to Australia we missed having access to their exceptional wines. We believe that Australians shouldn't have to travel to the US just to experience them.
We are guided by our philosophy that only wines we know and love should make it on to our list. We have used our first-hand experience living in the US to select exceptional wines that are well-balanced, elegant, complex, age-worthy, and express their terroir. These are the wines we love to drink, and are the ones we keep in our personal cellars.
We specialise in bringing the finest and most unique wines from the United States to Australia. Wines that are just as good as their Old World counterparts from Europe. We're not your average wine merchant! We offer a curated selection of exceptional wines that showcase the best of US viticulture.
Tasso Rovolis
Tasso is a co-founder of Alagonia Wines and a seasoned wine professional with over 28 years of experience in the wine industry.
He has owned multiple wine bars and restaurants and possesses an unwavering passion for wine. Tasso deeply understands the need to balance exceptional wine selections with the commercial realities of running a successful wine bar, restaurant and retail store.
Tasso's in-depth knowledge of wine regions, varietals, and styles, coupled with almost 3 decades of hands-on experience ensures he understands what restaurant owners, sommeliers, and consumers need and expect from their wine, and enables him to connect and foster trust with people from all backgrounds.
Anthony Forlin
Anthony is one of the co-founders of Alagonia Wines.
While he's been passionate about wine since he was 20 years old, Anthony spent the early years of his career in engineering; including the past 6 years living in the United States working at leading tech businesses including Amazon and DoorDash.
It was while living in the US that Anthony got serious about wine and started to research and visit the premier wine producing regions in California, Oregon and Washington State.
Over the past 6 years Anthony has acquired in-depth knowledge of the US wine market and established relationships with key wineries producing exceptional wines across California, Oregon and Washington State.
