2020 Kistler Vineyards Dutton Ranch Chardonnay

$440.00

Kistler have bottled the Dutton Ranch Chardonnay since 1979. Located where the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast appellations intersect, and planted in the sand driven Gold Ridge soil series. They've been lucky to have worked with the Dutton family since nearly their inception.

This is a chardonnay of precision; with focused, structural acids threaded through a body of delicate orchard fruit tones topped by soil driven aromatics. Aromas of green apple, nutmeg and fresh herbs. Medium-to full-bodied with great structure and length. The fruit is well attuned to the driving acidity that keeps the palate going.

About the Winery:

One of the finest producers of Chardonnay in the US, Kistler was founded in 1978 on the notion that compelling wines of site should be made in California. Steve Kistler and Mark Bixler believed that remarkable and charactered Chardonnays of site could in fact be grown and produced in California. It was a notion ahead of its time. For the last forty years they’ve been pursuing that notion without compromise. In ‘08 Bill Price, the longtime owner of Durell Vineyards purchased an interest in Kistler Vineyards, and Jason Kesner joined Steve in the cellar to begin to lay the groundwork for the next forty years.
